Why does my Saltillo floor look dull and worn?
Saltillo relies on a topical sealer that wears over time. Stripping the old finish and re-sealing restores the warm, handmade character and protects the soft clay.
Is Saltillo sensitive to moisture?
Yes — handmade Saltillo is highly porous and moisture-sensitive, so a sound topical sealer is essential to protect it, especially in the Bay Area homes near the coast.
